Van Jaarsveld hailed by Key

Kent captain Robert Key paid tribute to Martin van Jaarsveld following his matchwinning performance in the victory over Surrey.

Van Jaarsveld scored unbeaten centuries in both innings, as well as grabbing a first-ever five-wicket haul in first-class cricket to make it a game to remember for the former South Africa star.

Key told the Kent Messenger: "We didn't bat very well in the first innings, other than Martin van Jaarsveld of course, then on Tuesday he had a bit of a Roy of The Rovers type day.

"Those sort of games are once in a lifetime game that take me back to schoolboy cricket, because he dominated with bat and then with ball.

"To get two tons and his first five-wicket return, well they're games you only really dream about."
