Moores demands answers

England coach Peter Moores conceded after the one-day series defeat to New Zealand that there needed to be a big improvement if South Africa were to be beaten later this summer.

England lost 3-1 to the Black Caps in an at times controversial series, but Moores was only too aware that his side had come up short at vital moments.

"We've got to find answers. We can't ignore it," he admitted.

"We built a good foundation at Durham but now we've got to go away and work hard as we'll have a tough series against the South Africans.

"We haven't bowled very well at the end of the innings and batting-wise it wasn't good enough.

"We've had some highs but New Zealand have beaten us twice in two series and we've got to go away and think about that and make sure we work hard."
