Kallis: Injury not too serious
Monday Jun 30 2008 12:03
South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis will sit out the second day of the tour opener against Somerset due to an elbow injury.
Kallis smashed 160 on day one before being hit on the arm by a bouncer from Andy Caddick and was forced to retire hurt, before being unable to resume on the second morning.
However, Kallis is confident that he will be back in action soon, saying: "Caddick hit me smack on the elbow. It's sore but I'm fine."
Former England paceman Caddick added: "To be leaving the field he must have been in a fair bit of pain.
"It's one of those funny places. You get nerves and a lot of muscle reaction, but I'm sure he'll be all right.
"He's a strong lad but, as far as I was concerned, I was happy he'd left the field."
